Exactly what it says! A liquid form of chai unlike your regular dry, wet or powdered mixes. We wanted to provide a convenient and easy way to experience the full flavour, naturally.

We slowly brew spices, ginger and tea in water to extract the authentic taste of masala chai. It is then strained, bottled and ready to use. Liquid Chai is a concentrate, meaning you only use a small amount (15ml) added to milk. Don’t try and take a sip from the bottle, our 200ml can create 13 lattes and that is a lot of spice packed in a tiny volume!

Liquid Chai is a family-owned and operated business located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. We take pride in every aspect of our production process – from sticking our labels on to handcrafting the concentrate and bottling our product.

While we source all our materials from Australia, it’s important to note that not all our ingredients are grown here. For instance, our ginger is 100% organic and sourced from Australian farms. However, our spices come from trusted suppliers in Sri Lanka and India, where we ensure they meet our high standards of quality and freshness.

INGREDIENTS

We are 100% transparent with our ingredients.

Original Liquid Chai: Filtered water, organic loose-leaf black tea, cinnamon quills, fresh ginger, green cardamom, black pepper, cloves, star anise & Celtic sea salt.

Caffeine Free: Filtered water, organic Rooibos tea*, cinnamon quills, fresh ginger, green cardamom, black pepper, cloves, star anise, Celtic sea salt.

That’s it! All natural whole spices with no nasties.

Our original chai concentrate contains a small amount of caffeine that comes straight from organic black tea. However we have a Caffeine Free blend that uses Rooibos instead of black tea. It is naturally 100% caffeine free.

Our chai has no added sugars or sweeteners to suit everyone. We wanted you to have the choice of adding your own preferred sweetener and amount.

Our product is 100% vegan friendly and cruelty-free.

Yes! Our chai is made from all-natural whole spices and fresh ginger which have healing qualities such as cinnamon that lowers blood pressure and ginger that acts as an effective anti-inflammatory.

HOW TO MAKE LIQUID CHAI

Liquid Chai is super easy to use with just three simple steps:

Shake well before use. Heat 200ml of milk (we love ours with soy) to 15ml of Liquid Chai. Add a teaspoon of honey or something sweet.

Liquid Chai suits all palates by having no added sweeteners. If you are a true spice lover and like your chai with an extra kick, easily just add more concentrate (we recommend a double shot for those brave enough).

Shake well before use. Add 25ml of Liquid Chai concentrate to 250ml of milk (we recommend using plant-based). Sweeten the mixture with a teaspoon of maple syrup or agave (liquid sweeteners blend better over ice). Pour the prepared chai over ice, yum!

We suggest using a bit more concentrate for iced chai than for hot chai, as the cold temperature can dilute flavours.

You can even try our Chai Frappe

When it comes to sweetening your chai, it’s all about personal preference.

To replicate the flavor of a sticky chai, we recommend starting with a teaspoon of sweetener (honey works bests ).

If you have a sweet tooth, feel free to indulge with 2-3 teaspoons of sweetener.

Alternatively, if you prefer a spicier flavour profile or want to skip added sugars altogether, you can omit the sweetener entirely. Many of our chai enthusiasts enjoy Liquid Chai without any added sugars.

Experiment with different amounts to find the perfect balance that suits your taste buds!

If you’re a spice lover and need an extra kick, simply add more concentrate. You can also skip the sweetener; we find this can enhance the spicy kick!

We recommend using raw honey as it perfectly complements the flavours in a hot chai. Maple syrup is our favourite vegan alternative.

When preparing an iced chai, we highly recommend opting for a liquid sweetener, as it blends much more easily over the ice.

Agave and coconut sugar are two very popular choices as well.

Our preferred milk choice is creamy soy milk, particularly Bonsoy.

We’ve discovered that liquid chai is most delightful when prepared with plant-based milks, as they tend to enhance the spicy flavors.

Nevertheless, Liquid Chai pairs wonderfully with both dairy and plant-based milk options

Coffee Machine:

    • For optimal results, use the steam wand on the coffee machine. Combine both the chai and milk in a jug and froth them up to 65 degrees Celsius.

Spin Frother:

    • A spin frother is also effective. Add the chai and milk to the jug and spin it up. One helpful tip: preheat your mug by adding boiling water and then pouring it out before using the spin frother, as they may not always heat up enough on their own.

Stove Top:

    • Heat a saucepan over the stove and add the chai and milk. Stir until it reaches a light simmer, but be careful not to let it boil.

Microwave:

    • Add the chai and milk to a microwave-safe mug and heat for approximately 90 seconds or until it reaches your desired temperature.

Liquid Chai boasts a generous 12-month shelf life, even after opening. No refrigeration is necessary once opened; simply store it in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Before each use, give it a good shake to ensure optimal flavour!
