What’s Inside the Bottle? A Straightforward Look at Our Chai Ingredients
At Liquid Chai, we like to keep things simple: real ingredients, brewed slowly, and made to taste bloody good.Mum first started making chai many years ago because she wanted something that actually tasted like the spices she loved—not sugary powder, not syrupy sludge. Just proper chai with big flavour. And that’s what we still do today. No preservatives. No fillers. No weird stuff. Just whole spices, strong tea, and a recipe that’s been loved (and tweaked to perfection) over the years.
We get asked this a lot. The answer’s pretty simple:
We brew it ourselves, by hand
We use whole spices, not powders
We don’t cut corners
And—we brew the spices slowly over a whole day
That long simmer extracts every bit of aromatic goodness, creating a concentrate with proper depth and kick. It’s bold, balanced, and full of flavour.Another bonus? Whole spices are natural preservatives. So we don’t need to add any shelf-life extenders or sketchy stabilisers. Fresh ingredients, brewed properly. That’s it.

FAQs
What chai ingredients do you use?
We use organic black tea (or rooibos), whole spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, pepper), and a pinch of sea salt.
Why whole chai ingredients instead of ground powders?
Whole spices extract better flavour when brewed slowly and don’t need any stabilisers. They also act as natural preservatives.
Is your chai sweetened?
Nope. It’s unsweetened so you can add your own (or none at all).
Is it dairy-free and vegan?
Yes. No milk, no honey, no animal products. You choose your milk.
What’s the difference between the Original and Caffeine-Free blends?
Yes. No milk, no honey, no animal products. You choose your milk.
Do chai ingredients have health benefits?
Yes—but we focus on flavour first. Many of the spices in chai have a long history of supporting digestion, circulation, and general wellbeing.
How long does the chai last once opened?
Keep it in the fridge and enjoy within 4 weeks.
Do you brew it yourselves?
We do—right here on the Sunshine Coast, in small batches.
